Gizmo's Pawesome Guide to Mental Health Read-Along for this Saturday, Feb. 19 from 10-11am. This is a unique and wonderful little 'mental health literacy' program for children ages 5-11, covering the concept of mental health, how to take care of their own, what they can do when sad, mad or worried, and how to identify and connect with a trusted adult. Shamera (aka Gizmo) will lead the reading and I will assist with information and lead a short mindful breathing activity that Gizmo suggests to help us take care of our mental health. Gizmo's Pawesome Guide to Mental Health is being promoted and supported by the American Foudation for Suicide Prevention in NH and Maine after being a great success in Connecticut where Gizmo is a therapy dog.
Children can attend this session with their parent/guardian or another trusted adult virtually via a live Zoom session from their home or with a group of children and their trusted adults at remote locations, like a local library, or children's program. Attendees will be able to order their own copy of Gizmo's Pawsome Guide to Mental Health book and other fun and helpful resources online at no cost.
