A virtual Book Reading and Discussion

When a wild bobcat and her two kits takes refuge on the sprawling campus of Great Meadows Prep and the faculty pets start disappearing, rumors abound about the “monster” in the woods. Over time, several students—and one of their teachers—will risk everything to save the bobcat from being hunted down—and find love in the process.

Both an environmental romance and a page-turner, Saving Penny explores our attitudes about and fears of the Wild, and the possibilities for finding a deeper relationship to nature at this crucial time in our world. It’s appropriate for both adult and YA readers. Along the way in the talk, we will see some amazing pictures of bobcats and I will discuss how one became a central character in the novel.
